What you’ll need:
- Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap (Scented or Unscented)
- Coconut Cooking Oil (Liquid/Fractionated)
- Distilled Water
- Foaming Soap Dispenser
- Essential Oils (Optional)
Step #1 Fill Your Foam Dispenser With Water
First you’ll want to fill your dispenser with water leaving some room for your soap, oils and a little air. I used a 16oz mason jar and filled it to the top line. This ended up being 12oz of water. I bought the foaming pump tops separately and they came with the decal for the jar.
Step #2 Add Your Castile Soap
Next you’ll add your castile soap. For this size jar I’m using 3tbsp. You can choose either scented or unscented soap to work with. Here I have shown both Dr Bronner’s Rose scented and baby unscented versions, but there are many more to choose from.
Step #3 Add Your Coconut Oil
Now you’ll add your coconut oil. I used 1tbsp of liquid cooking oil here. The coconut oil is to add a moisturizing property. Without it, the soap alone is very drying.
Step #4 Add a Scent (Optional)
This is where you can get creative and come up with your own smell for your soap (of course this is optional and if you chose unscented castile soap you are done).
I’m using 15-20 drops of Aura Cacia Lemon Essential Oil. Choose your favorite scent or mix them to create a unique smell of your own!
Step #5 Give It A Shake. Finished!
Just give it a little shake and you are done.
Now you can enjoy your very own all natural soap that you created. Try experimenting and creating a unique hand soap by choosing a favorite Essential Oil next time.
